Madrid with Dave and Rachel

We stayed overnight at Gatwick to catch an early morning flight in a "pod" hotel.

It was like being on a spaceship.

It was a bit too small to get good photos...

They still have croissants for breakfast in space?
And so the eating has begun...

Fried squid bocadillo in Plaza Mayor.

Ham.

Chorizo, Beer and ham sandwich...

So much ham.

Yet even more ham..

A garden on the side of a building.

Chocolate con churros.

Oh look more ham at this lovely Tapas bar in Calle Baja...

Is he opening his mouth for some ham? Or just talking?

Fancy cocktails...

Drinking sherry on the balcony,

Yummy chicken and bean (with added ham) and some "smush". And cider!

Serious chicken.

Some Goya ceilings.

Cafe at the Reina Sofia Museum.

Paella. I think a Rabbit once and a fish one. Yum though.

No sorry B there's no more ham tonight.

Arriving at Botin, apparently the oldest restaurant in the world and a favourite of Hemingway (he seemed to get around, and not just in Madrid) and there is a scene set here in The Sun Also Rises.

Suckling pig and potatoes. The house speciality.

Not ham but lamb.

Aww where's Dave's?

Hooray!

You ate that whole hunk of lamb and you still want ham?

"You can never get enough ham"
